Door Assembler

Position Summary:

The position is responsible for assembling wood, aluminum, and vinyl door frames, and installing door slabs, insulated glass and transoms into frames.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate pneumatic hand tools and other wood working machinery and hand power tools (i.e. mitre saw, dual saw, table saw, shapers, nail gun, drill, etc.)
  • Produce quality product while maintaining required pace
  • Able to read metric measuring tape and produce accurate results consistently
  • Other duties as assigned, including acting as back-up operator on the Vega Door Cutter
  • Ability to repeatedly lift heavy product
  • Excel in dynamic, team-based environment

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills: verbal, written and listening
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to proficiently use various hand tools
  • Strong attention to detail and focus to ensure accurate and quality output
  • Ability to lift product with a weight of 50+ lbs
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency, strong organizational and time management skills to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and interruptions
  • Displays positive attitude and strong problem solving skills to address and resolve production issues in a timely fashion
  • Willing to learn and open to new challenges

Working Conditions:

  • Production environment where you will be regularly exposed to noise and lifting
  • Personal protective equipment (CSA approved footwear, hearing and eye protection) must be worn
  • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week and available for Day Shift (6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.) or Afternoon Shift (3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.)

DZ Drivers

Position Summary:

Golden Windows is looking to hire DZ Drivers to compliment our team. The successful candidate requires the ability to perform physical duties such as lifting up to 50 lbs, unassisted, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching and walking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loading and unloading customer orders at job sites
  • Delivering customer orders
  • Providing courteous, accurate and on-time deliveries
  • Developing strong customer relationships
  • Safe and efficient operation of our delivery vehicles
  • Ensuring delivery vehicle is properly maintained
  • Work with other team members to facilitate effective customer service

Qualifications:

  • Possess a valid Class DZ License
  • Minimum of five (5) years current driving experience
  • Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Experience with straight truck
  • Basic knowledge of truck maintenance
  • Have excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Clean drivers abstract
  • Excellent customer service skills, and
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

Working Conditions:

  • Irregular hours, Monday to Friday, occasional overtime
  • Frequent interruptions with changing priorities and deadlines
  • Working in extreme weather conditions

Production Assembler - Days & Afternoons

Position Summary:

The position is responsible for assembling wood products such as window sashes, doors, boxes using glue, staples, screws, bolts or other fasteners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to read and interpret detailed shop drawings
  • Able to read metric measuring tape and produce accurate results consistently
  • Comfortable working with pneumatic hand tools and other wood working machinery and hand power tools (i.e. mitre saw, dual saw, table saw, shapers, nail gun, drill, etc.)
  • Ability to repeatedly lift heavy product
  • Excel in a dynamic, team-based environment

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in carpentry and cabinet making is desirable but not mandatory
  • Previous experience in window or glass production is desirable but not mandatory
  • Minimum grade 12 or equivalent
  • Must be in good physical shape as job requires repetitive medium to heavy lifitng
  • Demonstrates ability to work as a team and independently
  • Attention to detail is paramount

Regional Sales Manager - Southwestern Ontario

Position Summary:

The Regional Sales Manager, Southwestern Ontario, will report directly to the VP Sales & Marketing. This individual will be a seasoned sales leader who is proactive and has a track record for delivering growth, preferably with the window and door industry. This position is responsible for the oversight of sales reps within the Southwestern Ontario region, and for providing council, training and leadership to help drive the organizations plans for achieving sales goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishes sales objectives by creating a sales plan and quota for districts in support of national objectives.
  • Maintains and expands customer base by counseling district sales representatives; building and maintaining rapport with key customers; identifying new customer opportunities.
  • Recommends product lines by identifying new product opportunities, and/or product, packaging, and service changes; surveying consumer needs and trends; tracking competitors.
  • Implements trade promotions by publishing, tracking, and evaluating trade spending.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.
  • Accomplishes regional sales human resource objectives by assisting in full cycle recruitment, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees in assigned districts.
  • Achieves regional sales operational objectives by contributing regional sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining regional sales system improvements; implementing change.
  • Meets regional sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required (merchandising, sales, marketing, or related field)
  • 10+ years' experience in the residential building industry preferred
  • Basic accounting skills required
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Great motivational and communication skills
  • Possess a track record of documented successes/achievements

  • A good judge of character that possesses exceptional negotiation skills when dealing with delinquent accounts.
  • Professional, courteous and pleasant with customers on te phone and/or in-person.
  • Top notch verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal positively with difficult problems.
